I stood on the beach, with the cold waves crashing against my bare feet. It was just starting to dawn in the simulation, and even though it was a simulation, it was still just as beautiful.
I gazed up at my star and Kylun's. Letting out a sigh, things from the past month passed through my mind.

Kylun had helped pick out a new President for Konsor, and old friend of his apparently.
Valadamir was on death row. Kylun says he's glad he'll be dead. But I see a small part of him that still cares for his twin. [their twins apparently! I kind of guess though haha]

No more harpies have shown their faces. Though now the security is extra high. And not only in the city, but in the Areas as well! So that's nice.
Savrin has gone back to Area 2 to burry his dad that just passed away.

I remember him coming in my room crying.
"He's dead Zaydie. I can't believe my dad's dead." He kept saying.
For a long time we just sat there and cried. I was finally able to take off the necklace with the single credit that Mr. Dralzon had given me so many years ago. I had given it to Savrin, and now he wears it all the time.
Never takes it off.
I think he's happy he has that memory of his dad. I know I would be.

I pulled my blanket closer as the wind picked up a little.
Hands wrapped around my shoulders.
I didn't freak out like I would have at the beginning of this long adventure, seeing as I already knew who it was.
We just stood there for a long time, not wanting the moment to end when the sun came up.
I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach. I wasn't sure why, but I felt... uneasy.

"It's time Zaydie." Kylun said gently. That would be why the feeling was there.
"Your leaving? Like actually leaving?" I asked.
He grunted a yes.
"do you know if you'll come back?"
"when I come back." He corrected. He moved around and stood in front of me.
I searched his silver-red eyes for an answer.
"I don't know when, but I'll come back."
I must have not looked convinced.
"That's a promise!" He said with a playful smile.
I took a breath and smiled back. I nodded.
"Ok. I'll hold you to that."
This made him laugh a little.
He slipped his hand into his high collar and pulled out his medallion.
He slipped it over my head and moved my hair.
"You have ridiculously long hair!" He remarked.
I laughed.
"Well I've never cut it."
"Never?!" he asked in shock as he messed with it.
"My mom might have once. But nope. I haven't had it cut sense then." He nodded. "Why are you going?" My eyes started to get moist.
He shrugged. "I'm not 100% sure, but I think the Creator want's to show me something."
I took a shaky breath and dropped my gaze. Trying to keep myself together.
"Hey, I'm leaving, I'm not gone." He said gently, lifting my chin up. "You'll always have my heart. No matter how far I am."
I nodded. "I know. Just as you have mine. But it'll just be..."
"Hard."
I nodded again and wiped the back of my hand across my eyes.
"Just remember, you never know what could be hiding in the shadows." He stated with a sly grin as he dropped his hands.
"Oh yeah. That's suppose to be comforting.... how?" I remarked sarcastically.
That made him laugh again.
"Yeah well, it's something right?" I nodded as the tears fell.
"Hey, I'm still counting on you to keep your promise to me."
"Which one?"
He smiled and moved some hair out of my face.
"The one you made to me before I died."
oh that one. "Don't ever stop living Zaydie. Your much to full of life to stop living. Ok? Don't mope around and wait for me."
"I don't mope." He cut me off with a look. I sighed. "Alright.... I'll try."
"There is not try. It's just do. Promise?"
"Promise."
He smiled and wiped a tear  off my face.
"Good-bye Zaydie." He then walked away, towards the sea.
The tears ran hard as I ran forward and wrapped my arms around his stomach.
"I'll be waiting.... for you... if you come here... you'll find me... I promise."
I whispered.
"Then I'll come and find you. Even if I have to search every beach. I'll do it." He turned around and pulled me into a hug.
"Don't forget me ok? I swear I won't forget you." He muttered into my hair.
I laughed and squeezed harder.
"How could I forget you Kylun? we're intertwined. From now on, our destinies are the same. So I swear that I won't ever forget you." I answered.
"Thanks."
I let go and took several steps back in the cool sand. Clutching his medallion against my chest.
He turned slightly and gave me a two fingered salute.
"See you around Kana." I laughed a little as he smiled at me.
Through the tears I watched the sunrise. And Kylun started to turn see-through!
Parts of him faded before others.
He ran into the ocean head-on and dove before a large wave swallowed him up, and carrying out of my sight.
I took a shaky breath and looked up at the two fading stars.
"I won't ever forget you Kylun... that's a promise!"

Ok so Kylun's not dead, that's great. And they finally kissed! gosh I thought they never would.
I'm serious, I'm real happy for them.
But had Quorra been able to get that remote programmed yet?

"Quorra, what's up?" I called, standing up. I glanced over my shoulder. Kylun was watching Zaydie sleep. When she had fallen over like that I freaked. But after such a powerful healing, that was getting off easy.
I walked over to Valadamir who had witnessed everything. I took Ryota and bashed him upside the head, knocking him out.
"I'm trying to figure out the kill code right now. But these things take time." Quorra responded. She sounded stressed.
"We might not have time." I said gloomily.

"ah... I see you have done me a favor." I jerked and looked around.
The dark sky prevented me from seeing much.
I gripped Ryota harder as I braced myself.
"Who are you?" I called out. I heard a cackle. Oh dear.
I sensed Zaydie run up next to me. Wow, that was quick.
Kylun came up on my other side. I glanced at the two of them.
"Are you sure you should be moving around?"
They both shot me a look.
"I'm fine." They said in unison.
I shook my head. "Iyiyi." I muttered.

We all turned into a circle with our back to each other.
"It may seem a little cleché, but I can be two things, a blessing. Or a nightmare. Choose wisely."
We all glanced at each other.
"Uh-huh." Zaydie stated in a clear 'I'm-definitely-not-convinced' way.
"Well it's true. Zaydie your worse nightmare is to loose your friends."
Coming from someone we couldn't see, it shocked Zaydie.
"Or should I be more specific, you don't want to loose him." Zaydie and I both turned and we found Kylun suspended in mid-air. His feet and hands were stretched out, and bound by... blue stuff.
We looked down and found a man with silver hair and a black robe that had a silver zipper down the front. Along with some weird tassel thing at the base of his collar.
"Well seeing as I gave something real important to bring him back the first time he died. Yeah!"
Zaydie was mad.
Real mad.

But that's when the silver-haired dude twisted his fist.
A sudden force had me locked. I couldn't move. Ryota disappeared, so at least he couldn't take it.
"Good. Your angry. Very good. Only with anger will you be of any good to me or to the rest of the Fallen. " The Fallen?
Zaydie froze.
"What do you mean by 'any good to me'?" She asked.
"No! Zaydie don't even-" Kylun suddenly shouted out in pain. I watched as Kylun went into spasms.
But what was even weirder, and freakier, was that Zaydie screamed and fell to her knees as well.
"Aw... my poor child." The man bent down on one knee. "It would seem that the two of you are far more connected then I thought."
Zaydie looked up at him through the tears that ran down her cheeks.
"So, all of you have a choice." he turned to look at Kylun and I.
"You," he turned to Kylun. "Can save the only girl you've ever loved, but you will have to work for me and the others. And in order to do that, all you have to do is let the anger and loneliness you've felt for so many years, loose.
All you," he turned to me. The spasms stopped for Kylun, though he wasn't able to support his weight, he hung from his bonds, trying to breathe.
Zaydie was on all fours panting.
"have to do is give yourself over and the two of them go free. Or them and that cute girl up stairs will be enduring some major pain for a long time."
A million thoughts passed through my head.
But before I could say anything, he turned to Zaydie.
Which made both of us boys tense.
"And you my dear. Can same them all. By doing the exact same thing.
Or they both die."
Zaydie's breathing had eased a little though she still looked in pain.
"I will."
She gasped and looked up.
Kylun's head hung. He avoided eye contact.
"Don't. You. Dare." Zaydie ordered through gritted teeth.
She turned to the Puppeteer.
"You know, I feel sorry for you." A look of confusion crossed his face. "You grow in the dark. Lost and confused. You can't see up from down, wrong from right. Your so lost that you have to take everything with you into the darkness in order to control it.
You cringe in the sunshine.
You don't know the strength that the Creator gives you. That your friends give you." A look of determination was on her face.
But the Puppeteer’s grew cold.
Twisting his fist again, Kylun yelled as pain shot through his body.
Zaydie shook her head but the pain was clear on her face.
"Almost have it guys!" Quorra yelled over the com.
"But you know?" Zaydie pushed herself to her feet. " I have friends. Ones that I trust with my life... ones that will always be my friends no matter what they do." She cringed as another wave of pain came.
I wanted to do something! But I couldn't even move! [talk about useless]
Zaydie called Takara and she appeared in sword form.
The Puppeteer rose to his feet and shook his head.
"Wrong answer." All three of us cried out. Incredible pain washed over out bodies.
Through the tears I saw Zaydie still standing, her lips moved rapidly.
"you know what to do!"
Tasin said in my head.
I glanced around. Focusing on my hands, I used all my strength to will them to move.
They did.
In a flash I was beside Zaydie. She had Takara in both hands. Kylun teleported to us and had a very determined look on his face.
"You will never win." The Puppeteer shouted. Zaydie started to form a spinning wall of wind around all of us. To prevent him from running.
"That's where you have it wrong." Kylun answered.
"If we have the Creator on our side-"
"no one can stand against us." Zaydie finished with a hard look.
Ryota appeared in my hands, and Shiro in Kylun's.
The Puppeteer brought out two round disks, with spikes on the rims. [and they were huge by the way]

Kylun made the first move by surrounding the Puppeteer in a bubble of water. But he quickly broke through that and ran at us head on.
We all scattered and Zaydie made the ring of wind higher and wider. Giving us more fighting ground.
Kylun and I met the Puppeteer head on and held him back.
Zaydie snuck around behind him and slashed down at his back.
He growled and spun around giving  Zaydie new cuts on her face.
That made both Kylun and I mad, and we dove at him again.
This went on for a good while.
No one seemed to be winning, yet no one seemed to be loosing either.

Zaydie jumped between us.
"I can't hold out any longer. I haven't fully recovered yet and all that electricity he shot through.... well Kylun I guess, didn't help." She said.
I nodded.
"wait if it went through me then how did it get to you?" Kylun asked.
Zaydie shook her head.
"Remind me to tell you latter. Let's use these Powers the Creator has given us." She suggested.
We nodded and pointed our weapons at the Puppeteer.
Giving it all we had.
Zaydie's wind created a vortex that started to suck him in. Kylun drenched him, which made him vulnerable to electricity.
Out of no where rocks started to spin up around him and pelt him like crazy.
"We'll meet again. Mark my words." Then he disappeared through a black door.

We all sighed, and collapsed on the ground.
The wind wall disappeared and Quorra landed in front of us on an air board.
"Well it's nice of you to leave me a little." She stated. slinging one of her pistols over her shoulder.
We laughed.
Quorra ran over,  making her guns disappear, and we all gave a group hug on our knees.
Then Quorra flung her arms around my neck and squeezed real tight.
I could hear her crying into my shoulder. After a moment's hesitation, I hugged her back.
"I thought I'd never see you again." She whispered.
I smiled and squeezed her tight.
She felt so small! [Hey! I'm just sayin'! It was a passing thought]
"Can't get rid of me that easy." I whispered back.
She sniffed and pulled away a little, thought not enough to break my hold around her waist.
"Good! Because I'm not ready to let you go yet!"
I laughed.
"Good to hear."
She then turned around and leaned against me and sighed. I leaned back on my hands and looked up as the grey clouds cleared and you could actually see the blue skies again.
Feelings started that day. Lots of them!
I don't know what they might lead to, but I know that with the Creator as my guide, and my friends by my side, I'll face what ever life throws at me, headstrong.

Kylun and I ran down the halls of the Presidential mansion as fast as we could.
I glanced back over my shoulder to make sure no Scouts were following us. But I couldn't make any promises, the whole mansion was flooded with them.
"We have to hurry." I said as calmly as I could. Kylun glanced at me. I met his gaze and saw my own fear reflected.
I offered my hand. With out the slightest hesitation, Kylun took it.
Together we dashed down halls, jumped over stairs, ducked for cover when we saw a solider.
"This is insane." I whispered as we flattened ourselves against a wall.
"I agree, but Savrin and Quorra need that part so we have to get it to them." I nodded.
"OK then. Let's do this."

We were in Valadamir's rooms, frantically searching for that kill switch.
I passed the overly large windows that faced the grassy courtyards. Outside even through the grey sky, and the fog that was sprouting up, I saw him.
"Kylun!"
He was by my side in a flash. With one glance out the window he marched off.
I took one last look out the window, then ran off to keep up with Kylun.
"What are you going to do?!" I asked. He didn't look at me, he just kept making his way down the large stairs.
"I'm going to kill him."
Searching his eyes desperately, I found that he was being dead honest.
"Fine. We have a better chance if there's two of us." I started. Through my senses I saw him shoot a shocked look at me.
"Well, I'm not about to let you go fight your brother by yourself!" I stated.
Coming to the last stair, Kylun gripped my shoulders. Hard.
"You are going to stay right here." He said with a harsh tone. I was about to argue, but he continued. "There's no way I'm going to let you in on this fight. Savrin needs that piece. Get it to him. I'll deal with my brother."
I let out a frustrated groan. Starring him down with equal stubbornness. But he was set on this.
"ugh! Fine! but as soon as Sav has that piece, I'm coming back." I stated.
"Don't join the fight Zaydie. Don't do it. You won't be able to help." He sure does have a way of making a girl feel utterly useless.
He suddenly leaned forward and planted a kiss on my forehead.
Then he dashed to the door.
"See you in Paradise." He shouted to me with his usual cocky grin and a wink.

After a moments hesitation, I dashed up the stairs and ransacked the rooms.
I had to hurry. If I didn't then.... no he couldn't have meant that... could he?
Kylun's last words rang through my head.
He did. He was saying good-bye.
This thought gave me new energy and I was more determined to find this piece then before.
I finally found it under the pillows. [of all places] Taking it out and concentrating on it, I made it float up into the air.
Pushing it with my hand I sent it zooming through the corridors Kylun and I had just came down, and back to Savrin and my little sis.
Once it was there, and Sav said he had it. I dashed back down stairs.
The clash of metal ran through the hall.
I shoved open the front door and stepped outside.

Kylun was locked under his brother's sword when I came running out, which made them both look up.
Kylun took advantage of this and threw his brother to the ground.
"Zaydie what did I say?!" He growled.
"Watch out!" I screamed. I summoned Zindra and aimed. Letting the arrow go, it pierced Valadamir's arm.
I aimed for another only I wasn't quick enough. Valadamir sent a wave of knives at me.
"No!"
I braced myself for the worst, but... it never came. I opened my eyes and saw that the knives had stopped in a perfect half circle about several feet away.
I looked up and found Kylun attacking Valad again.
"She stays out of this." He demanded.
They pushed each other apart and were now circling each other like hawks.
"Well duh! Your the one who's keeping the force shield around her." Valad shot back.
I gasped. If that was true then,... that meant two things.
1) Kylun's Mark has given him several abilities, the force shields being one of them [but obviously you already knew that] however, one can only keep a Power going for so long or it'll deplete your energy source.
And 2) Kylun's shields won't let me help.

Putting my hands out in front of me, I took several small steps till my hands got zapped and I jerked back. I tried to think frantically to see if there was anything I could do that would let me get out.
"Don't Zaydie." A sudden voice cut through to me.
I looked back at the fight in front of me.
"Just let me do this. Stay out of it." I met Kylun's gaze, even though he was in middle of a battle, he still had that reserved, cool face. But his eyes were screaming several things.
He wanted to prove to his brother that he was stronger then him. And he didn't want me to get hurt in the process. The second one overruled the first though.
At the moment I was really, really frustrated.
I felt so helpless, so useless.
I just sat there, watching the two of them beat the crap out of each other.

Valadamir, you would think, would be loosing, seeing as it was Kylun that went through the military training. But they both were surprisingly good.
Air jumps were to Kylun's advantage. But I knew he that he couldn't use any of his other Powers till he took this force shield down. And apparently Valadamir knew that too.

Kylun jumped in the air, his sword above his head for the death blow. But on his way down, Valadamir took his two samurai swords to Kylun's, clashing it so hard that it flung out of Kylun's reach, and skidded down next to me.
Valadamir jumped up and hit his brother with one foot, then took his other and pushed Kylun to the ground.
Kylun landed on his face, I heard a loud crack, and shuddered.
He quickly rolled over and out of the way as his brother brought down his swords.
Using his feet and arms to push himself backwards, Valadamir came at him in a slow pace. Like he was tormenting him. I glanced down at his sword. Then made Takara appear in my own.
I had to help.
Some how! But how, was the question.

"You loose brother." Valad stated. "I might not have been able to go through military training, but what a fat lot that did you."
Kylun was still crawling backwards, but soon he would be pinned against the mansion's walls. I started to gather up energy quickly.
"I know that I should be grateful. I became President! I control all of Konsor! what more could I want?! Well..." half of me wished he would just tell us what he was planning. The other half doubted it.
"You'll just have to find out." dang it. "But I'll give you a clue." Ok I'll take that. "It took me quiet a few years to think this all up. And then all the planning  took even longer. But now it's almost ready.
Everyone is almost ready. It's almost time. They have taught me quiet a lot, so things will finally be mine. Just as they said. But, unfortunately, you are not welcome in the new world.
Especially you."
That's when I saw just how much Valadamir hated Kylun.
I had never seen such hate in someone. It scared me.
"Come on Valad. Think about this. You already have the whole city. What more could you want?" Kylun asked.
Valadamir scoffed.
"They have made their decision." What?
Kylun glanced at me. I quickly pointed at his sword.
He nodded.
But before I could pick it up, Valadamir raised his arm for the death blow.
"No! don't!!" I screamed, jumping to my feet. Both of them looked at me.
"Can't you see?" I asked. "You can't kill him."
"Why not?!" That really got to Valad.
"Because, if you kill him, then all of Dresher will fall! things will collapse, people will die. The peace and triumph will be short lived! Kylun is the key to stopping all that!
He's the one that can keep Dresher up on it's feet. But not if he's dead." The ending sentence was a plea. One that I hoped would cut through Valad's anger.
He just scoffed. "Of course! It was always him! He was always looked at like some special being that would save the world. While I got thrown aside like a piece of trash!" I gasped quietly. "That's one reason why I tried to kill mom and dad. I managed to kill mom, but dad ran away. Ha! coward.
I had through I had destroyed you as well," He said. Addressing Kylun. "But it seems I have failed. Oh well, no matter, you'll be dead soon. But first, she has a choice." He pointed a sword at me. "Either she stay with me, and give up her friends. Or dies right in front of you. And you won't be able to help her."
"You leave her alone!" Kylun shouted.
"Sorry. All you will be able to do is watch."
"No please! Don't! We need him! I-" I cut myself off. But if this was were we died, then he may as well know.
"I need him."
Dead silence. The unnerving kind of silence.
Valadamir's jaw dropped.
"You... your in love with him." He said quietly. I was starring at my feet, I could sense Kylun's eyes on me.
I faced Valadamir with a determined face.
"Yes. I suppose I do. So there is no way on this planet that I'll ever even think of staying with you! I would rather die!" I shouted.
I risked a glance at Kylun. And smiled when I saw a grin work it's way on to his face. I met his gaze and gave a slight nod.
But that's when it all went wrong.

Kylun's face was suddenly full of pain and shock. I heard myself screaming as I watched the sword pierce his chest.
"NO!!" I forced out my hands, pushing against my prison. Kylun was still breathing, and I knew that he would save me, even if the price meant him going to Paradise.

With sudden power, I broke the cage. The shock wave threw Valad off his feet.
I gripped Takara harder and charged him.
We spun around each other in a dangourise dance.
I knew that I had to hurry or I wouldn't get to Kylun in time to heal him.
Valadamir charged with his two swords out in front of him. Aimed for my face.
I waited till last minute to jump out of the way. I landed behind him and sliced his back. He yelled and spun around.
We fought for several minutes. I used my Powers to cheat. But several times he cut my clothes. Once he cut my shirt right where my Mark is.
I pushed my hand out in front of me and forced his swords to form an 'X' at his throat.
"Killed by your own swords. Now that's got to be a disgrace." I stated in a dull tone.
"Why don't you just kill me already?!" He demanded after a few moments with him on his knees. I hesitated. Half of me wanted to do it. I wanted him to pay! I wanted it badly.
But the other half... me ... knew it wasn't right.
"Because I'm not you." I spat. "Now get out of here. And if I ever see you again. I promise you I won't let you go so easily."
I then marched off in steady paces.
I heard him pick up his swords that I had dropped, I sensed him charge. I ducked and spun on my knees. Slashing his legs and causing him to fall. I swept my hands out in front of me and his swords curled themselves around his arms and then dug themselves deep into the ground, forcing him to keep his hands strait at his sides.

I ran over to Kylun, kneeling down next to him, I unzipped his jacket.
Moving it away slowly, I found that his whole upper chest was bloody.
And by the blood loss, I knew.
Turning back to his face, I gently lifted his head and rested it on my lap.
"That bad huh?" He asked in a raspy voice. I didn't answer. I could feel the tears starting to weld up.
I reached out and did something I always wanted to do, but never had the guts before. I started to stroke his hair gently.
He locked me in his gaze, and I found that I couldn't have looked away even if I wanted to.
"Sav. You need to get down here. Now." I said into the com. Trying to keep my voice from breaking.
"On my way. Almost got the computer to work-" He must have heard me crying.
"Zaydie what happened?"
"Kylun's down... doesn't look good Sav."
I then took my ear piece out and gave Kylun my full attention.
"Did you mean it?" He asked.
"Mean what?" But when he stared at me, his eyes gave me the answer. I chuckled through the tears.
"Yeah. I really did mean it." I answered.
"Why didn't you ever tell me? before now."
I laughed and looked up, the wind froze my tears and made me shiver.
"Because... I guess I was afraid."
"Afraid?"
"Yeah..."
"Why?"
I sighed.
"Because I was scared that I would get up the courage to tell you,... but you wouldn't feel the same." I muttered, finally looking him in the eye again. I felt horrible for the fact that I was only able to tell him this while he lay dying on my lap!
A smile appeared on his face.
"All you had to do was ask. That's all you still have to do."
I didn't get it at first.
"What are...." I smiled as I figured it out. "How about it Kylun? any feelings I should know of?"
He got that cocky grin again.
"Yup."
"Oh? and what kind are these?" I asked.
"Ones I never want to forget. They started the first time I ever saved you. You felt so fragile in my arms. And that's when I started to grow close to you. When I opened up. You were the Creator's answer to my prayers Zaydie." He intertwined his fingers in-between mine. I couldn't breathe, and my heart began to ache.
"It took me a little while to figure out these feelings, and what they meant. But as I did, I saw a new life. A new way of living. A new dream. One that I had hopped to live out after all this.
One that had you in it." I guess shock was on my face again, because he smiled. "I guess now that won't be happening."
"Don't talk like that." I protested. He shot me a look.
"We both know you can't fix it." He struggled for air.
"Maybe you shouldn't talk."
He shook his head. Stubborn pig.
"I want you to know Zaydie, that you've always had a special place in my heart. You always have, and always will. I will always be with you, even if I'm not here."
My tears fell.
"Kylun..." I whispered.
"Just promise me-" He gasped as he tried to breathe.
"anything."
"Promise me you won't... stop living."
At first I was speechless. But then I was able to finally nod.
"Yes. Yes! I promise."
He smiled. Raising his empty hand he touched my cheek. Taking my own, I held it there.
Closing my eyes and memorizing the feel of his touch. [when it didn't involve saving me]
"I'll be waiting for you." He whispered. I looked back down at him as a new heart ache tore through my chest. "But before I... go... can you do something for me?"
I nodded.
"I think that right now you could get me to do just about anything." I said with a smile.
He grinned. "Would you sing me somethin'? Quorra says your a great singer, and I'd like to hear it at least once. Your voice I mean."
More tears came down my cheeks as I did another thing I had always wanted to do.
Keeping a firm grip on his hand, I lied down next to him on the grass and looked up as the sun started to peak through the dark clouds.
Oh so now you decide to show up huh?

"We watched the clouds as
they drifted by,
we felt the sky change
color.

We noticed it as we
stood there,
a melody woven by
a changing world."

I began to wonder how much of this particular song I would be able to sing through with out my voice cracking.

"Tugging on it with my
outstretched fingers,
I look for the one
thing that hasn't
changed.

I hold a light in my
hand.
A small marker
that points towards
tomorrow.

It echoes even
now.
I swear on the
vow
I made that day
That I will go on.

But just know.
you go on with me,
even if you are gone."

I took a deep and shaky breath as I tried to keep my voice from cracking.
"Quorra was right." I turned my head to see Kylun's face only inches from my own. He smiled at me. "You do have an amazing voice."
"Thank you. I don't use it much these days. But it's still something I like to do. Because it brings a smile on to anyone listening."
Another pain washed over me. The time was closing. He would be gone soon...
"Thank you Kylun." I whispered as he rubbed his thumb on my hand. "Thank you for the memories I'll treasure forever, and the best time I'll ever have in my life." I said through a tight throat.
"No... thank... you... k...a..."
That's when his chest stopped rising and his eyes closed.
That's when Savrin showed up.
And that's when the tears started to fall hard.
"He's gone. He wont' be coming back." I told Sav in-between sobs.
Savrin squatted down on the other side of Kylun's lifeless body.
I looked at Kylun's face. It looked so peaceful. Like he had gotten everything he wanted in life. That he had a good life.
And maybe he did. I only came into it near the end.
The wind picked up and swept my hair in front of my eyes. It played with his black spiked hair that was always in his eyes.
"Did he say anything?" Savrin asked quietly.
"yeah... he said that he loved me... he said that he won't ever forget me."
Savrin let out a sigh.
"But he's gone now. And there was something that I couldn't hear! Something that I won't ever know now." I broke down and cried again.
"Zaydie. I think we-you, might be able to bring him back."
I looked up with a wild expression I'm sure.
"How?"
"You remember when you told us that your Mark meant 'I'm waiting'?"
"Yeah." I failed to see where this was going.
"Well, it also says that when the rose 'wakes up' you healing powers would be much, much stronger."
"Yes but-"
"look at your Mark Zaydie." I glanced down and through the torn fabric, I saw that in the middle of the rectangle was no longer a closed rosebud, but a rose in full bloom.
My face lit up.
"do you really think...?"
Sav shrugged.
"It's worth a go."
Yes but how?...

I scanned Kylun's body, but my eyes finally stopped at his face. Well... this will be awkward.
But I was determined. So I took a deep breathe and leaned down, gently pressing against Kylun's cold lips.
At first nothing happened, and I started to get panicky.
But there was suddenly a voice in my head.
"do you know what your doing daughter?"
"No not really." I answered honestly. I had no clue!
"In order to bring him back, you will have to let me intertwine your souls. Your destinies. Your very being." it was the Creator himself...
"Yes Father... I understand. But he can't go yet! we still have a job to do!"
"...Very well. You have my blessing. But remember, he will still have to go. But I can promise you, you will meet up with him again some time down the road."

I then felt a warm feeling inside me. It came up my throat, past my lips and into his.
I pulled away and Savrin and I watched.

Again it took several moments for anything to work.
But I saw his skin start to become it's usual color, and then his chest started to rise and fall. I could feel his heart beating faster as if it was my own. He suddenly coughed and his eyes fluttered open. Making me jump.
"Kylun?" Half of me was scared that this wasn't real. Some kind of dream or something.
His eyes looked around wildly, but they finally landed on me. Reaching up he touched my cheek again.
A smile grew from ear to ear on both of us. He was back!
His hand slid behind my neck and he pulled me down.
"I'm back..." He whispered. "...Kana." I gasped. Then he pulled me lower and pressed his lips against mine. Only this time, they were warm.
My mind spun! Kana. He called me Kana! That was what he was trying to say before!
Now I thought of all this after Kylun got his share of kissing me.
And to be honest, I really don't know how long we kissed, I don't know if Sav watched, but at the moment I didn't really care.
Kylun's hand held my neck firmly, not letting me move if I wanted to, and mine twisted it's self in his hair.
I probably could have stayed there forever, if it weren't for the fact that I was getting light headed and dizzy.

I pulled away gently. Taking a deep breath I sat back on my heels. That's when I noticed just how tired I really was.
It's probably side affects from my Power. I thought.
"Sorry... I'm just really... tired." I said quietly. I collapsed on to the ground next to Kylun. I remember seeing his scared and worried eyes above me.
"Zaydie?" He asked. I reached up and touched his cheek with my finger tips. It was all flustered. Ha, mine probably was too. [Savrin says I was pink all over.]
"I'm fine... really... I'm just tired." I answered.
Kylun nodded.
"Ok, that's fine. go to sleep then." And I did. A nice and peaceful sleep. [even if it was short.]
I was content knowing that Kylun was right beside me, holding my hand.
Like I knew he would for the rest of my life.

Now I wish I could say that's where our story ends. But really... it's just the beginning.

As soon as we had changed back into our everyday clothes, we got down to business.
"Ok so, we need to find this missing piece which could be who knows where, along with this room which could be anywhere in the mansion, am I right?" Zaydie asked walking into the computer room.
I grinned as I saw that she had changed back into her old Shieven outfit. Complete with her favorite silver scarf wrapped around her waist.

She was gathering up her dark brown hair into a pony tail on the top of her head, when she stood behind Quorra.
"Yup. That pretty much sums it up." Quorra stated.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kylun sneaking.
I grinned and pretend not to see anything. But I subtly pointed to Zaydie's lower ribcage.
Then placed a fist in front of my mouth to keep from laughing.

Kylun snuck up quietly, and jabbed Zaydie's ribcage.
She screamed and jumped.
Turning around, she found the both of us laughing.
"Why you!" She dove for Kylun, who dodged while he tried to regain his breath.
She finally caught him and started to tickle him.
Soon Kylun was laughing so hard that he had no voice and he was practically falling over!
[Zaydie think's I'm "over exaggerating" but I'm not! Honest!]
Zaydie, of course, was laughing right along with him.
"I'm agreeing with you Sav," Quorra said as the two of us watched Zaydie try to breathe. "She has gone mental."
I chuckled and nodded.
"Absolutely. Mental."

The two of them finally calmed down enough, to walk in a strait line.
"I think the room is like you said," Quorra started, gesturing to Zaydie. [who was sobering up] "Somewhere in the mansion. Have you ever found any secret rooms anywhere?" She asked, turning to Kylun.
Who was... trying  to at least look serious. [Sorry Zaydie, but I can't help but laugh!]
"I think... yeah once when I was little Valad and I were exploring and we found a room like that one." He pointed to the hexagon shaped room. "But in recent years, I can't seem to find the door anymore. It's like he erased it or something."
We all sighed.
"You're a big help." Zaydie mumbled. But quickly moved on to keep him from saying anything in his defense. [but he still shot her the look]
"Sav, can you lock onto one of the pillars?" She questioned.
"I can try."
they all nodded.
Concentrating on using my Power, and sending up a prayer of guidance as well, I activated my locking signal.

Subconsciously as the longitude and the latitude numbers flashed in front of my eyes, I typed them into the computer.
Once they were in, I let the Power go.
Moving away from the computer, Quorra ran them through a program.
"Hmm..." We all glanced over her shoulder.
"It's hidden somewhere here." She pointed to a wall on the south wing of the mansion.
"Alright. Lets go then." I said.

Quorra was the one that didn't go with us seeing as Kylun still could only teleport two people.
But Zaydie made sure that she had a way of getting to us fast if she had to.
Then we were zapped to the south wing.
Fun.
[if you just smiled there's something massively wrong with you!]

                                                                                    F

Valadamir was on to us from the beginning. [ok, I don't know that for sure. But! I'm pretty sure.]
As soon as we found ourselves in front of the wall we were suspecting the room was in, we surprised many Scouts that were standing guard of... something... what? we weren't sure exactly.

All at once, we were under fire. Zaydie had pulled on her blue armor, and had Takara [shield form] in her hands in an instant.
Ryota was by my side as I was ready to deflect bullets.
But we didn't need to. Because Kylun put up a force shield around us.
Zaydie gazed at it, as the hinges of her jaw broke.
"What?!?! Oh that's so unfair." She stated, crossing her arms and pouting. [You were pouting! When ever that bottom lip sticks out, your pouting.]
"Ok someone had better come up with a good plan for those guys." Kylun shouted. Ignoring Zaydie's remark.
"Well, our covers been blown completely now, so I say we finish it." Zaydie said as we looked at the Scouts who looked like they had just seen a ghost.
I nodded.
Zaydie then placed her hand out in the empty air between us.
The two of us placed ours on top. We nodded and pushed them all down a little. Then we held each other's hands and sent up a prayer.

Kylun explained that his force shields kept everything out, along with everything in.
"I'll use my wind thing to get rid of them, so you'll need to let me out." Zaydie announced, gripping the straps on Takara harder.
"No. That's out of the question." Kylun objected.
Zaydie rolled her eyes at him.
"Kylun. It's not that I don't appreciate the gesture. But the whole brother thing is Sav's job." She explained, patting my leather jacket. That didn't seem to convince him.
She groaned. "I'm the only one who can do it with out dying! If I wear my armor, I'll be fine. You can't do it," She gestured to Kylun. "Because your shield won't let you. And Sav can't because he has no good defense that doesn't take up most of his energy and concentration." Zaydie argued.
... She did have a point.
Now it was Kylun's turn to groan.
"Don't. Die." He ordered.
Zaydie's eyes grew big and she glanced at me.
"Because, I might have more use of you latter." He finished starring her right in the eye.
Why do I feel like such a third wheel?
Zaydie nodded, and Kylun shrunk the shield, so it was just around me and him.
Zaydie's armor was back on, and Takara was at her side.
She held the shield close to her chest, ignoring all the bullets bouncing off her body.
She then suddenly spun on her heel 360°.
Wind whipped around us, and it was so powerful that it knocked every Scout down and out.
She stopped the wind and Takara disappeared in light.
She then turned and marched over to the wall and started to tap it with her knuckles.
They hit something hollow and she glanced down as she took two steps back.
Shoving her hands out in front of her, a section of the wall moved inward, and slid to the right.
Turning back to us, she placed a hand on her hip and cocked an eyebrow.
"Going to make the gal do all the work. Your such gentlemen." She mocked.
Kylun let the shield down and rolled his eyes.
We walked past her and into the room, but not before Kylun playfully yanked her ponytail.
"Ow. What's with you all of a sudden?" She asked with a hint of a smile, pulling her hair over her shoulder.
Kylun shrugged.
"Just enjoying the moment." He remarked with a playful smile.
Zaydie shook her head and jumped him. She laughed as she pushed both of our heads down, then she ran up into the room before us.

We met up with her and glanced around.
"What have we gotten ourselves into?" Kylun muttered. I shook my head.
I have no clue.

Soon we were all examining the seventh pillar in middle of the room.
"Um... Quorra, where on earth do we find this missing piece?!" Zaydie screamed into the com.
"Can't Sav track it?" She asked.
I shook my head.
"It's got some kind of cloaking device that prevents me from getting it's exact cordnets."
Everyone was quiet.
"But... I can tell you it's general location. Then at least you know where to look." I suggested.
"Ok sounds good." Zaydie said quickly.

Finding the piece and telling them where to find it was the easy part.
But deciding on who would go and get it, eh, not so much.
"Well I'm going period because there is of no use for me here." Zaydie stated.
Us guys groaned.
"If you stay here, you'll be safer." I said. Trying to plead with her.
"And if something were to happen to you, I won't make it." Kylun added. We both turned to him confused.
"You won't make it?" Zaydie asked.
Kylun looked like he would beat himself up. But he just nodded.
Understanding and shock came across Zaydie's face. [obviously, I was still confused.]
"Do you mean, that if something were to happen to me, you wouldn't make it through life?..." A thought must have struck her. Not a very happy one by the looks of it. "Or... do you mean you won't make it through what ever journey you're going to have to go through?" She asked with her head down.
"Both."
Zaydie looked up with one of the saddest faces I had ever seen her wear. I had only seen it once before. When her mom died.
Oh... boy... that's great. So he has a crush on her. Not that I couldn't already tell that. It was obvious.

Zaydie sighed.
"Well. Then I guess I'll have to make sure nothing happens to me." She had her mind set. Brother.
"Quorra. You might help Sav better if you were actually here." Zaydie remarked into the com.
"Sure thing. And did I just hear what I thought I just heard?" Quorra inquired. Both of us boys looked up at Zaydie. A smile grew on her lips as she turned Takara into sword form.
"Yup." She answered.
"And is this going to lead to where I think  it'll lead?"
Zaydie glanced at Kylun as she took slow steps backwards.
"Maybe."
My jaw dropped. But Kylun was grinning.
"Maybe?! Zaydie you can't just leave me hanging here like this!"
Zaydie laughed and gestured for Kylun to follow her.
"Sure I can. I just did."
Then she did a back flip out of the room, with Kylun right on her tail. They dashed off.
Now I definitely knew I was the third wheel!

Well my dress was gorgeous. I just have to say. haha.
Quorra’s was too just for the record.
The boys were both dressed up, but a little more casual then us girls. [in other words, no bow ties.]
But they still had the jacket, and shirts with cuffs, and slacks.

“We’re actually going to wear this?” Kylun asked. I nodded to his displeasure.
“Oh toughen up! you can handle one night.” I said picking up my own dress.
“Now go get dressed!” I ordered walking off into the bedroom.
Oh yeah... this’ll be fun.

My dress had a drop waist, [but not a mermaid style one] the skirt was poofy and a light blue. The bodice had thin straps over my shoulders, then a pink sheen material wrapped around the entire bodice and half the skirt. It also formed sleeves that fell off my shoulders. The pink was studded with small crystal hearts that were along the skirt. It was really pretty!
Thankfully for me, the top part of the bodice wasn’t revealing at all, so that part was good, and neither was Quorra’s. [I made sure of that]

Quorra’s was green. Hers was a Cinderella gown. It had a big poofy skirt, and a corset bodice.
The main material was made of a light green, but then a darker green sheen material draped around the top, pinned there by dozens of small crystal flowers.
The neck line was a halter top, but with a high back [unlike most of them]

We stood in front of a floor length mirror and looked at each other as we slipped our feet into high heels.
“Wow...” Quorra whispered. “We look totally awesome!” Quorra exclaimed clasping her hands together and giggling.
“Except, we need proper hair do’s if we’re going to go to Genesis’ ball.” I said. Moving my hands over Quorra’s hair, it twisted it’s self into a pretty curly mess on the top of her head. Sprinkled with crystal flowers.
“Ooh!” She jumped up and down as she turned. “Boy are guys going to be shocked!” I smiled and did my own hair. Forming it into a few ringlets, but then some of it was strait and tied up into a knot on my head. Ringlets hung around the back of my neck, and several strands fell into my eyes.
“Hmm... not bad.” I said quietly.
“What do you say we go first so they have to find us?” Quorra asked. I smiled at her and nodded.
“Sure.”
Pulling up a shroud to hid us from them, and them from us [the boys I mean] Quorra and I snuck into the computer room. As we stepped in, Quorra hollered.
“Go on ahead, we’ll be a minute!”
Then we floated in oblivion for a moment.

When we opened our eyes again, we found that we were in the largest room I had ever seen! The ceiling rose high and shaped into a dome. And it was all glass so you could see the stars shining.
The glass replaced most of the walls, save a few.

We were standing near the edge of the ball room and it looked like the party had only just begun.
Looking around I didn’t see any one I recognized.
I sighed and started to sway back and forth. Humming along with the music.

“You guys sure are easy- whoa!”
We both turned to see Kylun and Savrin walk up.
Kylun looked extremely like his brother. It was so weird.
He had on a black suit, with a red button up shirt and a black tie. Though the tie hung loose, and the first button on his shirt was undone, he still looked... dashing I guess.
Savrin wore a black suit as well with a plain white shirt, though he had a yellow flower on his jacket. That was the fanciest I had ever seen him in!

Well while us girls studied them, they studied us. With their jaws hanging wide open of course. [haha]
Kylun was the first to snap out of it.
“Well you defiantly don’t see that everyday.” he stated crossing his arms over his chest.
We girls glanced at our outfits to see what he was talking about.
“What does that mean?” Quorra asked.
“I just mean you don’t dress up like that everyday that’s all.” Kylun explained.
I smiled.
“I’ll take that as a complement.” I said, smiling at him.
“You do that.” I shook my head and laughed. Typical Kylun.

Trumpets sounded and the music died down. Everyone stopped dancing and turned to the large doors at the end of the room.
They opened and one of the cutest guys I had ever laid eyes on walked through. [what?! I’m a girl I can’t help it! so stop laughing Sav!]
He had red hair, and... silver eyes. He was a Shievan!
He wore complete black, with a red cloth in his jacket pocket.
As he walked down in between the people, not a smile appeared on his face. He reminded me of Kylun. Always on guard, all work and no play.
He nodded to people that spoke up to him as he made his way down to the opposite side of the ball room.
He walked right past me and the rest of the gang. His eyes widened as I smiled and sunk into a graceful curtsy. [it seemed the right thing to do. That’s all I can say]
He kept his eyes on me as he walked off.
“Well that was weird.” Quorra whispered. “Just remember. This is the past, so no meddling or we’ll mess up the future. Got it girl?!” She asked.
I turned to her in mocked shock.
“Who do you think I am?” I asked playfully pointing to myself.
“A sucker for hot guys.” Quorra answered, giving me a wink.
My jaw dropped.
“Quorra!”
“Oh look! Ice cream!” She then walked off. I shook my head.
“What did she say?” Kylun asked with one of his sly grins. I shook my head.
“Nothing! Ignore anything you just heard, because I assure you it was a lie!”
“Uh-huh.” Yeah I didn’t think that would convince him.
“Well you guys have fun!” he said as he walked off.
“And where do you think your going?” I called after him. He glanced over his shoulder and gave me a wink and a thumbs up.
“To get myself a date.”
My jaw dropped as he disappeared in to the crowd.
“What a low life.” I muttered.
Savrin laughed.
“Hey Quorra, how about it?” He asked. I turned and saw that Quorra really hadn’t gone far.
“Um...” she glanced at me. I nodded and gestured to the dance floor. “Sure why not?” Then the two of them were off.
I smiled as I watched them dance together. They made a cute couple. Haha. Oh gosh! I’m turning into my sister!

I hummed along with the music as I watched the people dance around gracefully from the sidelines.
Kylun had succeeded in getting a date. And she was way more prettier then I was. Oh brother.
“I don’t believe I’ve seen you before.” I jumped slightly and turned. My jaw dropped as I saw Genesis standing behind me.
“Your Majesty.” I dipped into another curtsy. He shook his head.
“Enough of the formalities. It’s Genesis.”
“I know.”
He opened his mouth to speak then shut it.
“And no, we haven’t met before. Though I have known about you. For quiet some time now.” I said. I didn’t want to say to much, I didn’t know what that could do.
He cocked his head slightly and slipped his hands into his pockets.
“Where are you from?”
“Oh... far away.” Definitely couldn’t tell him where! well, more like when.
“Hmm... Have you been here long?”
I nodded.
“Yes. For as long as I can remember.” Whoops! talk about a major slip up!
And the confusion registered onto his face.
“You are very confusing miss...?”
“Zaydie, your Highness.”
He shook his head.
“... Genesis.” I corrected. A smile played at the tips of his lips.
“Your a Shievan. How is that? You would have been in the records.” I smiled.
“Do you memorize everyone in those records?”
“Well... no.”
“Hmm.” I said with a smile. “Well happy 17th birthday.”
He nodded and looked out at he people dancing.
“Thank you. Though I can’t say there’s anything happy about it.” The dark look that has been on Kylun’s face so often crossed his.
They were so alike. Yet so different. But then I noticed.... the red tint.
Oh no.
For one moment, Genesis’ face changed to Havrin’s.
“Hiya Zaydie. What are you doing here?! Don’t you dare mess anything up!!” Oh he was so charming! Jerk.
I gave a curt nod. And he turned back to Genesis.
Genesis shook his head.
“Sorry about that.”
I forced a smile.
“it’s fine. Everyone gets headaches.”
Genesis sighed and offered me a hand.
“How about it Zaydie?” At first I was suffering from major déjà vu. But when I snapped out of it, I took his hand.
“Why not?”
Genesis smiled and led me out to the dance floor.

The music was airy and happy sounding. We moved back and forth as I tried to remember all the steps. We talked about various things, but nothing personal or anything. But I still considered it a great blessing to meet one of the Three before me.
We passed Kylun once, and his jaw dropped when he saw who I was dancing with. I sent him a sweet smile then looked back at Genesis.
So there! haha.

“Life is tough. And it’s worse when your a Prince, and then the Creator decides to-” He cut himself off, but I knew what he was talking about.
I nodded. “yeah... I know what you mean. And I can imagine it being hard if you constantly doubt yourself.” I said.
He gave me a curious look.
“What do you know?”
I hesitated.
“I know a lot more then any fifteen year old should. But, I use that knowledge to help other’s who are bound to darkness”
Genesis looked into my eyes for a long while.
It felt like he was looking right into my heart. Trying to figure out what I meant.
“You have someone close to you that’s lost in oblivion don’t you?”
I sighed and nodded.
“Yes. He’s given up on himself which makes it all the more harder to reach him.”
“yes... but I have a hunch that that’s only to save the ones closest to him.” I looked up at Genesis with a confused look.
“See, sometimes, people give up on themselves to save others. But in doing that, they lose themselves. “
I shook my head.
“What if I don’t want to be saved? what if I want to do the saving?”
That’s when Genesis actually laughed.
“Isn’t it the boy who comes to save the damsel in distress? Not the other way around?”
I shrugged.
“That’s been done millions of times! so why not shake it up a little?”
“I like your thinking Zaydie. Your right. To many times has the hero given up himself to save others.”
“Why can’t the other’s save him?”
“Hmm... good question. I guess they can. You just have to find the way.”
The dance ended.
And my time there was ending as well.
“Do that for me will you?” He asked. Quorra and Savrin started to walk up. I glanced around and found Kylun walking over with a smile I hadn’t seen before. Uh-oh.
“Save him.” I turned back to Genesis. I gave him a smile and nodded.
“I will. I promise.”
Genesis cocked his head and smiled.
“See you around Zaydie.” Then he walked off, and my friends came up next to me.
After my encounter with Genesis, it somehow made me even more happy to see Kylun. And with that smile, I only knew that it was something good.
When he came up next to me I threw my arms around his neck and gave him a tight hug.
I heard Quorra giggle then sigh. I could only imagine Savrin shaking his head.
Kylun hesitated, then I felt his arms wrap around my waist. Hugging me back ever so gently.
“You’ll never have to go anywhere alone Kylun. Never.” I whispered. I heard him gasp a little, then he squeezed me slightly harder.
“I’m glad Zaydie. I’m glad you’ll always be there. Right next to me.” He whispered back.
I smiled and let go of his neck.
I turned back to Savrin and Quorra.
Quorra was smiling, and Savrin gave me an approving nod.
I slipped my hand into Kylun’s, and offered my other to Quorra. She took it and slipped her other into Savrin’s. And together, we watched the ball room disappear before us, and the white paneled room appear again.
Still holding hands.
Still together.
Now,
and forever.

When Zaydie came back out of that simulation room, I knew something had changed.... though I wasn’t sure what exactly.
But I did know that Zaydie wasn’t the same girl she was when she walked in.

We all pilled back into the living room.
Zaydie immediately walked over to a shadow in the corner.
“your still part of the Three Chosen one’s, and this team so start acting like it.” She said, pulling Kylun out of the shadows and pushing him onto the couch.
She plopped herself down on the floor, using the bottom of the couch as a backrest.
The rest of us sat down anywhere and everywhere.

“Ok so we know that Valadamir is planning something big. Duh. That’s a no brainer.
And I think I know what par to f it is.
Valadamir is doing something to Sindo. Modifying it somehow.
Modifying it in a way that’ll probably brain wash us all that are Shievan, and making us-”
“Walking zombies on the loose! Ah! oh gosh now there’s a scary thought!” Quorra jumped in.
Zaydie nodded.
“Yeah. Now seeing as we can’t take Sindo out of us, we just have to destroy what ever modifiers Valadamir is doing. But the thing is to find them and then shut them down.”
“Leave that to me!” Quorra shouted. Jumping up she ran off into the computer room.
We all followed her, and watched as she started to tap rapidly away at the keys. Typing in seemingly meaningless numbers and symbols.
“Wait, your a hacker?!” I asked.
“Psh! if you know how to build things up, you gotta know how to take ‘em down!” she answered.
“I’m hacking into all computers in the mansion right now. They should be coming up on holoscreens... now.” We turned as six or so holoscreens came up. “Huh, not as many as I thought. Oh well. Just start looking through them while I hack into Valadamir’s personal computer.” Quorra instructed.
“Yes ma’am.” I said, marching off to a screen. She laughed.
“You just keep saying that Sav. You just keep saying that.”

Soon all six of us were scanning through one computer after another. Looking for anything suspicious that might tell us what’s going on.
So far... only a few false alarms.

Zaydie sighed and moved away from the screen she had been working on.
“I’m so stiff.” She complained. And to loosen up, she jumped in the air and did several flips over our heads.
Landing on the far side of Brin, she swept her hair over her shoulder with a dramatic flick of her wrist.
She then let out a contented sigh and gave us a thumbs up. Then burst out laughing.
“What?” Quorra asked, turning around. Zaydie just pointed. I glanced around and found that Kylun had leaned back to get me out of his view so he could see Zaydie. Then looking farther down the line, I saw that Braxlin was doing the same.
“Brax, sorry bud but she’s way to young for you.” Quorra stated with a sympathetic pat on the shoulder.
Braxlin’s eyes got huge in horror.
“It’s not like that! And besides, those two were looking just as much as I was.”
“That’s not true!” Kylun and I shouted.
Quorra shook her head.
“Yeah because I’m going to believe you three.” she remarked, walking back to the main screen.

I risked a glance at Zaydie, she was still smiling, yet shaking her head.
“You boys are crazy.” she muttered.
I saw Brin lean over and whisper something which made Zaydie nod and pat her skirt.
She then walked back to her screen and went back to work.
“What was that about?” I asked.
“Rule number one.” She stated. Yeah ‘cause I know what that means!
Quorra turned.
“Never go anywhere with out a knife.”
I looked from Zaydie to Quorra.
“That’s my girls.” Brin said with a wink.
The sisters nodded. While I shook my head.
“Alright people back to work!” Braxlin called out.
“No need.” Quorra said, twirling a pen between her thumb and forefinger. “I’m in, and I think I found it.”
We all trampled each other getting to Quorra.

“Ok I was able to hack my way past the heavy, and I do mean heavy firewalls, which let me access-”
“We don’t need to know how you did it, just what you found.” Kylun cut in a little impatiently. But that didn’t stop Quorra.
She turned to her computer screen. When she pulled up a file, we all just stared.
Once we figured out what we were looking at, we all reacted differently.
Zaydie gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. Brin shook her head, Brax crossed his arms and studied it more.
Kylun rammed his fist onto the table, and I hung my head.
Creator, your going to have to be the lamp here to show us what to do next. I prayed.
“Pretty bad huh?” Quorra asked.
“That’s an understatement.” I said. She looked up at me with a worried look and nodded.
Oh boy...

“The design is extremely complex. I’ve never seen anything like this before!” Quorra exclaimed. I would tell you what this bad boy looked like if I could.... alright fine!

The thing was a room, a white paneled room. [though ten times bigger then a simulation chamber]
The room was hexagon shaped, with a pillar in each of the six sides. Save one that stood in middle of the room.

Quorra got rid of the holoscreens already up, and brought the blue prints up on one large one.
“This pillar here,” she pulled her fingers apart, zooming up on the pillar in the middle of the room. “Is the one that controls the whole contraption. Like a remote.
Now here,” she zoomed up even closer. Showing a slit in the smooth pillar. “is where Sindo will be placed. Inside,” she made a sweeping motion and the slick casing of the pillar moved away. Showing the inner mechanisms.
“Sindo will be modified and then once it is, the main pillar will activate the others, which will scan the modified Sindo, then produce energy and fly out over the entire city.” She double tapped, and the room spun, and the screen changed to the scene of Konsor. A beam of light came out in the middle of the city and a shield looking thing fell over top of the entire city. “Changing all the Sindo molecules in every Shiev in Konsor.” She finished.

We were all quiet for a long while.
“Well that’s just great!” Kylun stated. “I can’t go anywhere now. Not with this thing on the loose.”
“Wait, your going somewhere?” Zaydie questioned.
He ignored her. Oh boy, here we go again.
“Where are you going?”
“Far away.” He mumbled. I couldn’t figure out his expression.
“What’s that suppose to mean?”
I shook my head.
“Ok you two lovebirds! Work out your little problem latter.” I shouted.
Kylun and Zaydie were both shocked at first. But they got over it.
“Why I aught-a.” Zaydie’s threatened. Shoving a fist into my face.
“I’m sure you will at one point in the not so distant future. But right now, turn all of your focus,” I pushed her hand down and turned her to the screen. “on that. Both of you.” I said over my shoulder.
Zaydie let out a forced sigh. She crossed her arms and shifted her weight to one foot.
“So does it have an off switch?” She asked hotly.
Quorra continued to do various hand motions.
We were soon looking at the main pillar’s insides again. “There’s a missing part. See?” She pointed to a specific empty area near the outer part of the pillar.
“I think, that once the part is programmed with the kill code, and inserted, it’ll shut down all seven of them.”  He hologram demonstrated. “And you all should be safe.” She finished looking back at us.
“But the only draw backs are-”
“Where’s this room, and the missing piece?” I finished. She nodded and we all stared at the screen.
“Lets work on that tomorrow. Then we can all get a fresh start.” Zaydie said in a soft motherly tone. We all nodded and shut everything down.

                                                  ++++

It was probably around midnight when I gave up on trying to fall asleep.
I rolled off the couch and grouped around in the dark kitchen till I found the light switch.
Flipping it on I jumped when I found Kylun sitting on the counter licking on chocolate ice cream.
His hair was even more of a mess then usual and he looked like he hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep.
“You really should stop doing that.” I mumbled.
He shrugged and offered the ice cream container. Pulling out a spoon I jumped up on the counter.
“So what happened?” I asked. Kylun sucked on his spoon for a moment before answering.
“Lots.” he stated. Dumping his spoon into the sink.
“What’s that mean?” I pried.
Kylun shoved his hands into his sweat pants that he slept in.
“She sure is bonehead stubborn.”
I froze.
“Was that suppose to be a complement?”
Kylun hesitated.
“Not sure, but I’ll tell you when I figure it out.
I took another lick.
“She’s an extremely loyal friend.” I said with my mouth full.
“If she likes you, you’ll be her friend until you die,... and even then you’ll still be her friend in Paradise probably.” I said with a smile.
“She believes in them that much?” He asked. I nodded.
“She’ll give you her life if it means she can save you.” I said in all honesty.
Kylun looked at me with a grave expression.
“What happens if I can’t be saved?”
“Everyone can be saved. It just takes a patient heart. Which Zaydie has. So... I wouldn’t worry to much about it.” I said with a wave of my hand.
“What if I don’t want to be saved?”
“Ha! yeah right! That’s so not going to happen! Zaydie’s determined. And when she’s determined she won’t be moved. So you better let her. And give her a boost every now and then. But she’ll figure out a way. Don’t sweat it.” But then I got serious. “But if you break her heart, or hurt her in anyway, I guarantee you, you’ll be sorry!”
Kylun leaned back in shock.
“Whoa, now who said anything about that?!” I cocked an eyebrow. “What?!”
“It’s obvious.”
We both jumped and turned. Quorra rubbed her sleepy eyes and yawned.
“What are you eating?” She asked walking over and peaking into the ice cream container.
She wore a night gown [of all things] that was a little big on her. The sleeves were too long, and the bottom scrapped against the floor.
She dug out a spoon and started to eat the ice cream.
“Hey who invited you?” I shouted, taking the ice cream away.
She looked up at me like she wasn’t sure what I just said.
“stop being a hog Kalen.” she said.
“Kalen?!” Kylun and I shouted.
She shook her head and rubbed a sleeve on her hair.
“My bad. Sorry, not fully awake yet. But... I’m sure a lick of ice cream will help.” She hinted. “Please?” She pleaded looking up through her blond hair with big green eyes.
“Whoa! now who could refuse that?!” Kylun exclaimed.
Handing over the ice cream container. I shrugged.
“I never can. They both give me that look and I’m a goner. It’s insane!”
I helped Quorra pull herself up onto the counter, and she dug in.
“so what are you two doing up chit-chatting at 1:00 in the morning?” She asked in between licks.
“chit-chatting.” Kylun answered.
“Huh. Sounds like you were talking about Zaydie to me. Is that true?” She asked starring Kylun right in the eye.
“Oh no! you can play that trick on Sav because he’s so gullible, but not me!” He crossed his arms and turned away.
“Ha! yes you were. Your blushing!”
Kylun turned and glared at her.
“I am not!”
She nodded.
“You are, I can tell.” she remarked with a giggle.
“Well I can tell you one thing, if you hurt her, I’ll take my switch blade to you.” she warned.
“What is with everyone these days?!” Kylun groaned.
“It’s obvious you like her.”
“I don’t like her!”
Our jaws dropped.
“Oh really? because some how I doubt that. Your still blushing for one, and besides if you didn’t like her you wouldn’t be leaving.” Quorra stated.
Kylun opened his mouth then closed it and shook his head.
“That’s not the reason I’m leaving.”
“oh? then what is?”
He sighed.
“It’s... complicated.”
“Humph.” She then took another lick. “He’s got it bad.” she mumbled.
“what?” I asked. Just to provoke him.
“oh the love bug.”
“Quorra. I hear that one more time and I’m going to kill you.” She shook her head.
“I’m the one with the switch blade.”
“Yeah but I’m the one with limitless weapons.” Kylun pointed out.
Quorra shrugged in a ‘what-ever’ kind of way and sucked on her spoon.
“Just be careful ok? don’t hurt her.” I said.
Kylun sighed.
“That’s what I’m trying to do guys. But it’s not that easy when your a monster.”
I sighed.
“There he goes again.” I muttered. “He’s hopeless...”
“who is? And how come I wasn’t invited to the party?” We all jumped again as Zaydie walked sluggishly into the room.
“Oh I want some ice cream!” She jumped for the can, that her sister gave to her with the spoon.
She was dressed in shorts and a large T-shirt that looked real old.
“Who’s was that?” I asked. Looking at the saying typed across the front, I laughed so hard.
She gave me a sleepy smile.
“My dad’s. Fitting huh?”
I nodded.
“Well... we might as well get the day started...” I suggested.
Everyone groaned.
“Ok... never mind.” I said.
“Did you really mean it?... your leaving?” Zaydie asked starring down into the almost empty ice cream bowl. But we all knew she was talking to.
“hmm... yeah.” Kylun answered quietly.
“When are you leaving?”
He shrugged.
“Don’t know. Some time soon though. I can tell.”
Zaydie looked down and depressed.
“Oh I hate this!” Quorra decided. “Come on you three. I have a dream I want to happen right now.” She shouted over her shoulder.
She pulled us all into the computer room.
“Zaydie it’s early I need you to use your Power to get us some clothes.”
“Uh... what kind of clothes?”
“Fancy ones!”
We all looked at her in shock.
“F-fancy ones?” Zaydie asked. Quorra nodded enthusiastically. “and what exactly would we be doing  with these fancy clothes?”
“Wearing them. Duh.”
Zaydie rolled her eyes.
“Why would we be wearing them?”
“You’ll see.”
Quorra then walked up to the simulation chamber and started to program it.
Zaydie sighed.
“Alright, ball gown type fancy? or evening dinner kind of fancy?” Zaydie asked.
“Hmm... well get the boys evening dinner, but you’ll want a ball gown. Trust me.”
“Oh bother.” Zaydie muttered.
She walked up to the computer monitor and started to look at the inventory of the wardrobe upstairs.
“Would someone please tell me what’s going on?!” Kylun asked desperately.
Quorra came up to him with a gold piece of paper.
“This is for you!” She handed each of us one.
Zaydie laughed.
“You have such an imagination Quorra.” Quorra smiled. I glanced down at mine and shook my head just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.
In big fancy letters it said:

“Your cordially invited to Prince Genesis’ 17’th birthday ball.”

“Quorra where did you get this?! And what does it mean by ‘Prince Genesis’?” I asked.
“You don’t really mean...?”
Quorra got a mischievous grin on her face. “You’d be surprised where this thing can take you.”
“Oh! so you mean like a real ball dress!” Zaydie exclaimed.
“Well in that case!” She must have used her Powers because her eyes turned green again.
Before we knew what had happened, an outfit for each of us appeared floating in front of us.
Our jaws dropped.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Kylun muttered.

Kylun had taken me back into the simulation chamber, and we then stood facing each other in a small clearing in middle of a dense forest.
Why do I have the feeling that I’m about to get a lecture?

“Give me the book.” Kylun ordered. I handed it over with out taking my eyes off him.
He took it and shoved it in his own pouch.
“did you read any of it?”
I shook my head, which seemed to shock him slightly.
“Why not?”
“Because... It was a last resort. I didn’t want to read it till either you gave me permission to do so, or you wouldn’t tell me anything.” I rubbed my arm and tapped my toe nervously.
He looked shocked, I sighed and dropped my hands.
“I didn’t want read it because it felt like going behind your back.” I confessed.
It was the truth! I realized it then that that was the reason why I hadn’t brought myself to read it yet.

Kylun sighed and shook his head. Sending his black hair into his eyes.
“Zaydie.” He said quietly in a pleading tone. I was confused but didn’t say anything.
“Your attached to me aren’t you?”
I was shocked by his sudden question that I didn’t know the answer to... at least I didn’t think I had the answer to.
“No... well yes... maybe, but just the same as everyone else.” I answered.
He shot me a look.
“what?”
I didn’t know!
I’ve always worn my heart on my sleeve, so technically speaking, I got attached to everyone that I liked.
Liked.... oh bother!

I shook my head.
“What does my becoming your friend have to do with anything?” I asked. Trying to change the subject.
“It would be different if you were just a friend.” Kylun started. “But you’ve gotten too close Zaydie.”
What?
He gave me a sad look.
“I can’t do that! I can’t... let you in!” He said taking several steps back.
“Kylun I don’t understand.” I confessed.
“There’s more darkness in my heart then you know. It’s not just Havrin. There’s a lot about me you don’t know. That you can’t know.”
I shook my head and took a step forward.
“But that’s where your wrong.
Do you remember when Sav and I had to give you more Power?”
Kylun nodded. “yeah. Your’s were so bright. I could only see shadows of darkness.”
“We saw yours too...” I said quietly. Kylun groaned.
“But there was light!” I remembered. “it might have been small, but it was there! and so long as it’s there, it doesn’t matter how much darkness there is, it just matters that you hold on to that shred of light.”
“But that’s where your wrong!” Kylun shouted, shaking my shoulders.
“That light didn’t use to be there. But now that it is, I can see what the Creator has done for me, and I can also tell right from wrong. and I know that holding on to you would be...”
don’t say it.
“Wrong.” My spirits dropped as he let go of me.
Kylun took a step away.
I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as the wind started to play with it. Moving it out in front of my face.
“So let me get this strait.” I started. “I can’t be more then a friend because there’s something dark about you, and this has to do with me... how?”
Kylun groaned again.
“Because! your too close!”
“To what?!”
“Me!!”
I froze.
What did he mean by that?
“I’ve kept the dark locked up for my whole life by being emotionally removed from the world.
Then you came along and almost blew everything!”
My jaw dropped. Was he seriously blaming it all on me?!
“Oh so now it’s my fault?! well sorry if you lived a little!”
I took a deep breath and turned away. The wind got stronger and tugged with my skirt.
“But I’m glad you did.”
I turned back and saw that Kylun was looking up at the sun.
“Now I can say that I’ve seen the light. That I’ve been happy.” The memory of all of us laughing in the grass came to mind.
“We work great together even though your my complete opposite.”
a small smile found it’s way onto my lips.
“But Zaydie,” he turned to look at me. The wind blew his hair completely off his forehead and out of his eyes.
“you gotta let me go.”

It was like someone had just taken a sledge hammer to my chest. I couldn’t breath. it hurt to much.
“Your attached. And though I don’t know how much, you still don’t know who I am.
You don’t know what I am Zaydie.
So just let me go and save yourself the heart break.
I’m a monster that doesn’t need to haunt you.”
He turned his back to me. The wind played with his jacket.
“But Kylun... your a boy. One who just lost his way a little.
Your not a monster.”
I said quietly taking a step forward.
“If only you knew Zaydie. But you don’t.
Forget me alright. You’ll be better off that way.”
I shook my head.
“I’ll never forget you Kylun! We made a promise!” I said with more determination in my voice then I felt at the moment.
“I’ll...” the words to ‘My Freedom’ came to mind. “I’ll walk with you through the night. Though I can’t help much. The Creator holds your key to freedom. And through him, you’ll be free from any darkness that has their chains around you! “ I clutched his jacket sleeve to keep him from walking off.
He looked down at me with a sad face.
“It’s not that easy-”
“Yes it is! why is it that everyone makes things out to be so much harder then they actually are?! All you have to do is believe Kylun! that’s it! The Creator isn’t going to forget you or leave you to fend for yourself. That I can promise you!”
He sighed.
“I don’t think you get it Zaydie.
I’m a monster. One look from Havrin and you should have figured that out!”
“Yeah, I guess I did. But I didn’t see a monster! I saw a boy locked up in his own mind. And I know that I’m stickin’ around to see him set free. You’re not getting rid of me that easily.”
“Zaydie. You sure are one surprising girl. But I’m glad I’ve got a friend like you.”
I cocked an eyebrow and placed my hands on my hips.
“A friend eh?” I asked. “I thought that’s what Savrin was for.” I laughed as I saw the shear shock on his face.
“See ya!” I then had the simulation take me back to reality.
Well now that that’s settled.

“Good job Zaydie. Keep him on the right path. You’ll need him.”
I smiled.
“Alright Creator, alright.”

When Kylun came back with Zaydie, she immediately pace.
“Zaydie what happened?” Brinlynn asked. But Zaydie was unresponsive.
“Zaydie?”
“Shievan... he said something.... about the Shiev... but what did it mean?!”
“I knew it. Zaydie’s gone mental.” I stated, crossing my arms over my chest and leaning back on my left leg. Quorra slapped the back of my head.
Zaydie suddenly stopped in mid-step. Her face turned even paler then usual.
“No.” She muttered, sinking to her knees. She buried her face in her hands.
“No.... no, no, no!” She cried.
“Zaydie what’s wrong?” I tried, squatting down in front of her.
She looked up at me.
“Sindo.”
The confusion must have shown on all of us.
“He said that soon Sindo would be complete. Then he slipped up just now. He said something about the Shiev... and then...” she faltered.
“And then what?” Kylun asked gently.
“And then he.... said I would finally be his.” Her voice cracked, and she threw herself at me. Then she just cried.

Quorra gasped and I noticed that Brax and Brin’s jaws dropped.
I rubbed Zaydie’s back gently as I watched Kylun’s hand grip into a fist and his knuckles turn white.
“And you Kylun,” Zaydie sat up and turned to him. “He talked about you. There’s this journal,” She dug into a pouch and brought out the journal that she had teased the other Kylun with.
[Havrin or something]
“Havrin knows about it and he was mad I had it, but...” Kylun’s face turned white. “... It was written by your mother wasn’t it? and it’s about your curse, and all that she knew about it. Also things that could... and will happen to you... isn’t it?”
We all looked at him.
His face had turned to a slab of stone.
“Zaydie, come with me. Excuse us.” Kylun said through gritted teeth and a clenched jaw. He gripped Zaydie’s arm and hauled her off.
I shook my head and turned to the other three.
“What did she mean by ‘what will happen to you.’ what’s going to happen to him?” Quorra asked. I shrugged and looked at the door to the computer room where the two had disappeared.
Good question Quorra.
Good question.

I started to laugh along with Kylun. I had never seen him laugh, so this made me really happy. Really, really happy!
So yeah, I started to laugh with him, and then with me, everyone else started to as well!
Soon we had all collapsed on the ground and were now laughing our heads off!

We finally calmed down enough to breath. We were all lying on the ground with our heads together in a circle as we watched the sky turned pink.
“What were we laughing at again?” Quorra asked.
That sent us all in to another laughing frenzy.

I took a deep breath and sighed with a big content smile on my face.
I’ll cherish this moment for the rest of my life. I just know it!
“So what’s your weapon Kylun?” I asked getting up to my knees.
Everyone else sat up and we looked at Kylun.
He summoned his weapon, and a staff appeared in his hand.
The staff it’s self was as tall as he was or possibly taller. It was made of black wood, toward the top of the staff where Kylun held it, a red handle made of that same pulsing liquid light thing that was in Takara and Zindra had. It looked like the red grew on the wood like moss [yeah weird description I know] then ribbons of it grew up the rest of the staff and circled around the top.
The top was what was interesting.
At the tip top was a stone, that was filled with light. It was such a contrast to the black wood that it almost seemed out of place.
Around the neck [the base of top that holds the gem] was a red ribbon. At the end of the ribbon hung a chain, and at the end of that, a key.
“Wow. That’s a really, really cool weapon!” Quorra exclaimed. “What does it do?”
I giggled behind my hand.
“That’s what training’s for.” We all turned to see Braxlin walk up. “And I suggest we get started.”
We all nodded.
Time to get to it!

I was surprised by how much Braxlin knew beyond how to use his own weapon.
For the rest of the day both Braxlin and Brin trained us hard.
It kind of reminded me of the old days until Brax comes up and pushes me harder.

“No Zaydie. Your getting  this form mixed up with the last.”
I took a deep breath and forced myself not to scream in frustration.
But I could tell that Brax was getting annoyed.
Real annoyed!
I had been trying to get this one form down for the past half hour.
But I just couldn’t get the last few steps. [I blame it on Braxlin’s teaching style. How Savrin ever learned anything is beyond me!]

I shook my head and placed a hand on my hip.
“Sorry. I’m just not use to a sword. It’s so much longer then my ureci and I feel like such a klutz!” I confessed.
“Well that’s because you are a klutz with that thing.”
I turned and saw Kylun walking up.
He patted Braxlin on the shoulder.
“I’ll take it from here.” He stated. I let out a small sigh as Brax walked away.
“Well you sure do know how to make a girl feel special.” I retorted sarcastically.
He shrugged and gave me on of his grins.
“I try.”
I shook my head. This guy was crazy!

He used his Power and a sword appeared in hand. [not Ultima obviously]
“Ok, you keep getting it confused here, so we’ll start from there then see how you do.” I nodded and watched closely as Kylun went through the form. It didn’t look difficult when he did for some reason!

Although at times I was slightly embarrassed to mess up in front of Kylun, he was very patient with me, and never had anything but a kind and friendly tone.
But try as I might, I couldn’t get that form to work with me.
“It’s fine. Took me a while to get the dragon form right any way. But out in a battle is really when your likely to get it right. Just when you need it most.” Kylun said as we called it a day for everyone.
“Well thanks for your help.” I said as we walked out of the simulation chamber and back into the living room.
He shrugged.
“No prob.” He then collapsed on the couch.
When I looked around, everyone was collapsing all over the place.
I took the floor and lied down on my back.
Closing my eyes to keep the light out, we all started to talk about our training and our weapons.
“You guys did really good.” Brin complemented.
We all turned to look at her.
“What? I’m being honest! For the first day with new weapons, ya’ll did great!”
I sighed and turned over on my stomach, holding my chin in my hands.
“Well it didn’t feel like it.” Quorra muttered from her position on the end of the couch.
I started to swing my legs back and forth mindlessly.
“Well you already know how to use a gun, but Zaydie and Kylun had to start all over on a new weapon completely! And they did fabulous.” I smiled up at Brin, then turned to Kylun.
“Hey, we never asked, what’s your staff’s name?” I spoke up. Everyone nodded and we all looked to him.
“Shiro.”
I nodded. “White? Hmm... cool.” completely random for him but hey, that’s ok.
“So what can it do? I mean it’s not exactly a sword.” Quorra asked.
“Well there’s a lot of things I think it can do. Tasin explained that the more I use it, the stronger it’ll get, so the more I can do with it.”
“Ooh!... cool beans.” We all chuckled at my sister.

                                                ++++

In an hour, Braxlin and Brinlynn left with strict instructions on how to behave.
The four of us groaned as we sat through another uncomfortable conversation.
Brinlynn had taken us girls into the bedroom and had us sit down at the end of the bed.
Then she went on talking.
Our mom died before we were ever old enough to have such a talk, so I was thankful that Brinlynn didn’t think it too embarrassing to not tell us to be careful.

“I made my decision long ago that I would wait for who ever the Creator had for me. So I’m not going to do something dumb now and blow it.” I said after Brin had finished.
Quorra nodded in agreement.
“Same goes for me. And besides we’re both way to young and innocent to know anything anyways.”
Brin smiled.
“Well I’m glad you girls have decided to reserve yourselves. Lets just keep it that way, ok?”
“You can count on us!” We both said, giving her a thumbs up.
Brin laughed.
“That’s good to know. Well,” She sighed. “I have to get back. I have other training responsibilities I have to take care of. See you girls tomorrow!”
We met the boys outside and saw Braxlin and Brin off.
“Oh! They make a real cute-”
“Don’t even finish that!” The three of us interrupted.
Quorra shook her head.
“What? I was just... thinking out loud.”
“Then stop thinking out loud.” Savrin ordered.
Quorra stuck out her bottom lip and marched off to the kitchen.
“Not much of a hiding-” I jumped up and clasped my hand over Sav’s mouth.
“Shh!” I said through a giggle. “Don’t provoke her!”
Savrin rolled his eyes and swiped away my hand away.
“So... what’s for dinner?”
“Kylun!!” my sister and I shouted.
“What?” He asked with the most innocent face I had seen yet.
I laughed and Quorra came into the room.
“You know what?” I asked, looking around the circle of friends. From one sincere and playful smile to the next. [Yeah, even Kylun!]
“I never want to forget any of you.” I said. Slinging an arm around Savrin and Kylun’s shoulders.
They all looked at me.
“Where did that come from?!?!” They all shouted.
“I’m just speaking from my heart.”
Quorra smiled and slung her own arms over the boys’ shoulders as well.
“That’s real sweet sis. But some how I have a feeling that we’re never going to forget each other even if we wanted to.”
The boys in turn, slung their arms on our shoulders, and we all looked at each other with big smiles.
“I say we make a promise.”
Kylun suggested. We all nodded.
“It doesn’t matter how far away we are from each other. It doesn’t matter if we can’t see each other. What matters is that we remember each other. Because our hearts are connected, and they always will be.
All we have to do is remember each other.”
Quorra looked at me with raised eyebrows after Kylun’s touching speech.
“It’s a promise!” We all shouted. Placing out fists together in a circle.
“Thank you Creator for giving us each other.” Savrin said quietly.
We all nodded and looked from our hands to each other.
Quorra was right.
I could never forget this gang even if I tried.

“So! can we have dinner yet?”
We all laughed at Kylun, and my sister and I walked into the kitchen.
“What ever are we going to do with them?” Quorra asked with a smile.
I shrugged.
“Beats me.”

For dinner, we had the boys in here helping us.
Kylun blasted techno music from the computer room, then we all moved around the kitchen, bumping into each other, getting in the way, spilling things, and making one massively huge mess of flour, sugar, chocolate batter, and pie crust!
But we made dozens of memories, filled with laughter, joy, peace, and friendship.
Memories that’ll last a life time.

                                               ++++

The next week was nothing but training!
As tiring as it was, I learned quite a lot about Takara, and Zindra!

Tasin explained to me that Zindra was actually a Creature from Paradise, and that she had been Genesis, Mikaiela, and Aarek’s guide back in the day. She had returned to Paradise once they had completed their quest. But when I had touched the bow, she came back for an instant.
“So will she come back?” I asked looking at Zindra. [the bow]
“She might, every now and then. But she won’t stay here.” Tasin said.
I nodded and took aim at a tree twenty or so paces away.
Letting go, I watched as it hit dead center.
“Your getting much better. Especially in such a short amount of time.” Tasin complemented. Jerking Zindra, it disappeared in a wash of light.
“Thank you. I’ve gotten good at Zindra now, a while ago, I couldn’t even shoot strait to save my life!”
Tasin let out a small sigh.
“The more you train with Zindra or Takara, the better you will become. That I can promise. Now I must go. I’ll see ya’ll latter!” she said with a smile, and a wave. Then disappeared with all of us waving her off.

I turned back to our gang. They were all fighting various training droids. Most of them were winning, except for Kylun.
He was having a little bit of a difficult time trying to figure out how to use Shiro.
I dug out Aarek’s book from one of my pouches and sat down on the grass of the clearing in the forest we were fighting in this time.
Opening up to my bookmark, I dove in to his world.

“Life is getting more and more difficult to cope with. Everyday we walk
into a new city, we help the people out, watch the happy ending,
then leave.
We’re only passing through.
And that makes me wonder if we’ll ever see home again. But if we do make
out of all this alive, we will go back to living out own seperate lives.
We won’t see each other any more.
Genesis is from Konsor, the city that thinks their better then every
one else and doesn’t let any one out or in.
Mikaiela will go back to Nibraca, that small ocean villiage of hers she talks
about so fondly.
And I suppose I’ll go back to Vecina.
But that’ll be the end of The Chosen Three won’t it?
No... perhaps not. I’m laughing as I write this. No now I know that
some of us will be still in contact.
Genesis is going to propose to Mikaiela today after we finish fighting
our biggest enemy yet and rid Dresher of him for good.
That is of course we get out alive.
But I suppose if we don’t Genesis can always propose to her
in Paradise right?

Hmm... I know I will do what ever the Creator has planned for me, and
that is all very well and good with me. I just hope that we won’t be
strangers.

Well on to more pressing matters. Genesis’ weapon, Shikira.
Is a peculiar weapon. If you ever find a staff, yet it seems to have no
use. I shall give you a hint.
The staff’s power comes from the bearer’s heart. If he believes it’ll work,
it’ll work.
But if he gets frustrated and angry it’ll only lock up.
I’m afraid that Genesis had to learn this out the hard way. So take that
as a warning.

I looked up and watched Kylun as he shook his head and made Shiro disappear.
Hmm...
Getting up, I went over to where Kylun had sunk into the grass.
“Hey, I think I might have found something to help with Shiro.” I said, sitting down on me knees.
He looked up at me and angled his head to get a better look at the book.
“Oh yes, Genesis proposing is really going to help me.” He said sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes and slapped the back of his head. I might have blushed as well. Though I can’t be one hundred percent sure.
“Not that part! This paragraph here.” I pointed to it.
He read it and nodded.
“Ok thanks. I’m not going to try it right this second because I’m way to tired.”
I nodded and slipped the book back in my pouch.
“So does it actually say that Genesis and Mikaiela get engaged or does it just hint?” Kylun asked.
I shrugged.
“I haven’t gotten there yet, but I hope so.” then I laughed.
“What?”
I shook my head, still laughing though.
“Nothing.”
“Well it’s obviously something or you wouldn’t be laughing.”
“It’s just that Genesis reminds me a lot of you. It’s funny sometimes to see what he does, and then you do the exact same thing.” I remarked.
“What’s that suppose to mean?”
I shook my head.
“Nothing bad, I just think it’s funny that’s all.”
“How are we alike?”
“well.... you both are extremely moody all the time. Have secrets that you don’t trust with any of your friends. And apparently you both put you hands behind your head when your bored. Which annoyed Aarek pretty bad.”
Kylun laughed.
“Well tough for Aarek, because I’m not stopping.”
I chuckled.
“No one was asking you to. and besides I don’t think Aarek minds.”
I awkwardly tucked my hair behind my ear as we sat quietly.
“Well tell me that they get married in the end and that Aarek finds a girl. Because he’s in desperate need of one!” Kylun stated as he got up.
“Why?” I asked as he turned to go. He paused and glanced over his shoulder.
“Even I  like happy endings Zaydie.”
I smiled to myself and turned back to look at the tree tops.
Mindlessly, I reached out and controlled a small yellow flower.
I watched it spin around in front of me as a million thoughts ran through my head.
I did hope Genesis and Mikaiela got married after all they had been through.

I sensed a blade of grass bend under someone or something’s foot. And it was only an arm’s length away.
Friends are special. I said in my head. Takara appeared in my hand, I spun around and Takara blocked a sword. I jerked it away from me and gave my shield a forward thrust, ramming who ever, in the chest and throwing him backwards.
Quickly flipping Takara, it formed into a sword.
Slashing downward, Takara met metal halfway.
I glanced up and found that I was fighting Sav.
... Alrighty then.

He rose to his feet and we circled each other.
I sensed the others stopping what they were doing to watch. Oh yes, I’m sure this’ll be a good show.

“What’s up with you?” I asked.
Swiping away hair from my eyes.
“You looked to peaceful.”
I laughed and spun away as he lunged at me.
“Jealous huh? that’s odd because I don’t remember you being the jealous type.” I remarked as our swords met in sparks.
“Who said anything about being jealous of you?” He asked, glancing over my shoulder.
“Sav your never going to win that way!” Quorra yelled, jumping into the fight.
“Hey! two against one?! That’s not fair!” I shouted at the two of them.
“Nah, looks pretty even to me.” She answered.
I turned and saw Kylun walking up beside me.
“I’m always having to bail you out.” He mumbled, pulling a sword out of the air.
“Nu-uh.” Braxlin remarked, stepping in between the two teams.
“Use only your new weapons! No Powers either, and you can’t be off the ground for more then a few seconds.” He ordered.
“You’re really asking for a lot you know?” I stated. Brax gave me a sarcastic smile.
“I’m sure you can handle it. Ready?” The two teams nodded. “Give us a show.”
He then moved off the fighting field.
I glanced around as a wall sprouted up around us in a flash of light, then turned invisable. But it was still there.
“Oh boy.” I muttered as I faced Savrin and Quorra.
Kylun summoned Shiro and didn’t look to happy about it.
“Hey remember the tip!” I said. He looked at me and nodded.
“Got it.”
I turned back to our oppoinents.
Quorra had her guns at the ready, and Ryota was barred to the teeth.
I took up my unique fighting stance and braced myself. [If you were wondering I held Takara out behind me instead of in front of me like Sav.]

I went up against my sister, which wasn’t really a good idea seeing as Takara could only be a shield or a sword. Not both.
Yet Quorra had guns! oh bother.

“I’m not going easy on you.” She warned.
I rolled my eyes. “No of course not. Yet who asked you too? I have backup.”
Quorra smiled.
“So do I.”
I shook my head and ran forward.
Quorra ran backwards, shooting at me. I quickly flipped Takara into a shield. I could hear the bulits hitting my shield. And when Quorra stopped, and I risked a peek at it. There wasn’t even a dent!!
But taking a second glance, I noticed that the heart lights were brighter and immediatly I knew what to do.
Gathering a small amount of energy, I gave it to the shiled, which made the lights grow brighter, then the shield let something go, and I felt the wind pick up, surprising everyone, a whirlwind shot out of it, and at Quorra. It knocked her clear off her feet and when it did, it disappeared.

I looked down at Takara and flipped her back to a sword.
“... Whoa!! sweet awesomeness!” I shouted.
Quorra laughed.
“yeah no kidding!” She said picking herself up from the ground. “I wonder if mine can do something like that... hmm...”

It turned out that each of our new weapons had at least one magic trick up their sleeves. [for example, the whirlwind]
And we could call on them quiet easily as well, which was great!
Except the first time, they appeared quiet randomly.

I was chasing after Quorra with Takara [in sword form] when I was suddenly blasted off the ground with a bolt of lightning. Looking up from the ground, I saw that it was Savrin to blame for knocking me off the ground.
I shook my head and jumped up.
“Didn’t your mother ever teach you not to hit girls?” I asked sarcastically, shooting a whirlwind at him. Knocking him off the ground.
“yeah! now that’s what I’m talking about. Kylun exclaimed jumping up and giving me a high five.
“Don’t loose focus!” Brin yelled.
We nodded and turned around. Finding Savrin and Quorra side by side.

I knew Savrin was good at swordsmanship, seeing as he’s been at it for three years or so.
Quorra was fast with her guns, I wasn’t sure how fast, but fast.
Kylun’s weapon, Shiro, hadn’t showed us what it could do yet, but I hoped it would soon!
Or we were toast!

We charged each other, Sav’s sword and mine clashed together as he protected Quorra from Takara.
He locked me with his new odd sword, and my strength started to leave me as I tried to stay my ground.
Kylun jumped in next to me, pushing Savrin away, I heard a gun cock behind me and felt the coolness of a barrel in the back of my head.
I turned sideways to keep both Savrin and Quorra in my sight.
Kylun had stopped fighting behind me. Sav kept his sword pointed at him though [traitor! Just kidding haha!]
“Looks like we won.” Quorra remarked with a smile that made me angry.
I felt Kylun step closer to me.
“Get rid of Takara.” He whispered barely audible.
I jerked Takara, and she disappeared.
“I wouldn’t judge to soon.” Kylun stated. Pulling me close, he raised Shiro in the air, then pounded it on the ground.
I felt the air get heavy and suddenly it seemed like the whole ocean jumped in the arena with us, only confined by the invisible wall.
It was all flooded! Except for the small air bubble around Kylun and I.
I kept close, but turned around and gazed in wonder at all the water.
It only lasted a few seconds before Kylun dropped the water level till it was soked up in the ground.

I looked to find Quorra and Savrin, cautiously moving away from Kylun, he dropped his hand off me.

We both ran over to Savrin and Quorra, pointing our weapons at them.
“Do you give up yet?” I asked. Quorra nodded.
“Yeah. You win!” She said in a feeble voice.
Kylun and I got rid of our weapons and pulled them to their feet
We all placed our fists in a circle.
“Yeah us!” Quorra exclaimed. We all chuckled.
“See?! I told you guys were doing great!” Brin said excitedly as the invisable wall dropped. I smiled at her.
“Thanks.”
“Eh, you did ok. But don’t get to excited yet, you still have a lot of work to do.”
We all groaned.
“Kill joy.” Quorra muttered at Brax.
He just crossed his arms and glared at us.
Which we returned.
The boys chuckled.
We never did find out what Quorra’s guns could do, but we were all so tired, that we didn’t think to ask.

“Hey we made a great team!” Kylun complemented.
I nodded. “yeah we did.”
We all stumbled out of the simulation chamber hot and sweaty.
“Ok! I need to go swimming!” I exclaimed.
Brin and Quorra nodded and immediately agreed.
“Oh yes! where should we go?” Quorra asked. “A pool with a hot tub?”
I shook my head.
“I was thinking something more natural.”
“How about a lake?” Brin suggested.
“That sounds good.” I said.
“Um girls-”
“But won’t it be cold?” Quorra asked.
“Then lets go to a hot springs!” I suggested.
“Girls.”
“Ooh! one up in the mountains so that when you get over heated, all you have to do is lay in the snow and your as good as new!” Brin exclaimed. Clasping her hands together excitedly.
“Girls!!” We all turned as the boys yelled at us.
“We don’t have any bathing suits.” Savrin pointed out. I swiped his worry away with my hand. Which made their jaws drop.
“That’s what the big room upstairs called the ‘wardrobe’ is for.” I answered.
“How do you plan to get there?” Kylun questioned.
“That’s what your for.” I said with a sweet smile.
“Um... did you miss that whole episode when I tried to teleport this many people last time by any chance?!” He asked. [well more like yelled]
“That’s why you take more then one trip.”
“What about security?” Brax threw at me.
“I’ll take care of the cameras easy.”
That stumped them all.
Savrin finally shrugged.
“Alright fine, you win.”
Us girls squealed and gave each other high fives.
“What?!?!” Kylun shouted. Turning to Sav. “did you just sign me up for a girls field trip?!?!”
“Yes. I believe I just did.”
We all laughed. Well at least us girls.
Kylun shook his head and held out a hand.
I immediately took it with out the slightest hesitation. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him shift uncomfortably. Was he embarrassed?
I couldn’t [wouldn’t] ask, because he then teleported.
This was the first time he had teleported me, when I had my eyes open.

We were in the ‘wardrobe’ before long. And as soon as we landed, Kylun let go and moved away.
ha! so he was embarrassed!

I started to hum my favorite song as I walked down the isles.
Pushing down with my hands, I turned off the cameras and erased the last few seconds on all of them. Just in case.

We had just walked past the front doors when they opened.
Kylun jumped me from behind, which freaked me out making me open my mouth to scream.
But he clamped his hand over my mouth and slowly backed up into a corner. He pushed me behind him, and waved his hand in front of him. I looked down and saw shadows washing over my body.

I looked up as I heard footsteps.
Valadamir walked in with his hands in the pockets of his expensive tailored grey trousers. he had on a crimson red collared shirt with a suit jacket over it.
When I looked from him to Kylun, the resemblances were remarkable!
They looked identical, except for their eyes. Kylun’s were silver due to Sindo, yet they still had that red tint to them.
Where as Valadamir just had black holes for eyes.

Valadamir stopped at the door and took a deep breath looking up at the ceiling.
“You know Kana, it must be hard to keep your heart from beating so fast.” He said, seemingly mindlessly.
I froze. Half of me hopped that he had a girlfriend that I didn’t know about, and that at any moment she would answer back.
But... no one did.
“Are you going to stay hidden in the shadows? You struck me as one that liked light, not shrouding yourself in darkness.”
I touched Kylun’s arm gently.
“Go get the bug.” I whispered quietly.
He turned and met my determined gaze.
He nodded and my hand suddenly fell back to my side.
“Creator send an angel to be with me please! don’t make me go in alone.” I whispered.
I suddenly felt a small warm hand in mine. I glanced down and found Tasin giving me a reassuring smile.
“He heard you.” she whispered back.
I then stepped out of the shadows and faced my fear head on.

“Because even I have secrets that I keep in the dark.” I answered. Valad turned his head and sent one of his dashing smiles at me.
“Oh yes. Just the same as my brother.” He said. “Pitiful thing really. Cursed actually. But still had one secret that he kept from me to his death bed.”
I wanted to shout out that he wasn’t dead. Even though I had just seen him a few seconds ago, when Valad clamed him to be dead, I got a gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach.

No Zaydie. you can’t say that if you want to protect him! I yelled at myself.

“Maybe that was best.” I answered.
“Hmm... I would have known if I had my mother’s journal.” that got my attention.
“But I know enough.” Valadamir walked up to me.  “To know that there was an extremely dangerous side to him that would lash out unexpectedly.
I don’t mean the curse Zaydie... I mean the darkness in his heart. It’s mind blowing what the dark can do to someone if they wallow in the past, or worry about what’ll happen if they let their guard down for just one second.”
My jaw slacked slightly as I tried to hide the shock.

Tasin squeezed my hand, snapping me out of the daze. “But I don’t care about my brother’s pitiful life.” Valadamir continued, turning away. “soon I shall have every Shievan-” He cut himself off. “well lets just say that very soon, you’ll be mine... Kana.” He placed a hand on my right shoulder, only his palm was over my Mark.
Then he walked out and left me there, with my brain running a hundred miles a minute.
